I think it’s fair to say that for this generation of consoles at least, i’m an Xbox 360 guy.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a brand loyalty thing, my favourite console of all time is the original PS1 and i had a LOT of fun playing PS2 at university. This time round however, Microsoft got their console out first ans as a result i’ve invested the most money and time into my Xbox and I love it dearly. I tell you this to explain why exactly it’s taken me so long to get round to playing Uncharted.
I put off getting a PS3 for a long while as with all the overlap on cross-platform titles, i couldn’t really justify spending £300 quid JUST to play a few exclusives (MGS4 I waited SOOO long for you). However, when the PS3 Slim came out, i ended up ‘winning’ one at work as part of an incentive scheme and promptly picked up the exclusive title’s i’d been dying to play:
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
- Little Big Planet
- Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
I then proceeded to play MGS4 to completion and then never turn my PS3 on for the purpose of gaming for a bout 9 months! (I do however use it as a Blu-ray Player and Media Streamer). This is something I recently discovered to be a mistake on my part because Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is one of the most entertaining games i’ve played for a while.
It blends various types of action gameplay, seamlessly allowing the player to switch between platforming, gunplay, stealth and beat-em-up!
